Memory Lane International Friendship Gardens, British Columbia Canada
A five acre perennial garden open to the public was established in 1994 at Chetwynd in Northeast British Columbia, Canada. It is located along the foothills of the majestic Rocky Mountains.

Gardening in the 1800's produced some of the most beautiful gardens in North America. Seeds brought over from the homeland were treasures to be shared with friends and neighbours alike. Great Grandma Jane shared seeds with Miss Louisa, who in turn shared seeds with Mr. Mike. Whether they were a novice or experienced gardener, whether the seeds were for simple pleasure or a staple, they were responsible for the formation of many lifetime friendships amongst the early settlers.

From rock garden flowers to stately perennials such as Delphiniums, Jacob's Ladder, Monkshood, Lupins, Poppies and Ferns, to Black-eyed Susan's... What garden would be complete without the old fashioned Daisy? This garden is home to more than 100,000 perennials and thousands of shrubs, native and ornamental trees; many were obtained from gardeners from all over the world, including Australia, Germany, New Zealand, Scotland, the USA and Canada. Each is marked with a Victorian-style plaque complete with the gardener's name, country and the received date. Memory Lane International Friendship Gardens, British Columbia Canada
Memory Lane International Friendship Gardens, British Columbia Canada Seed and Plant Swap!

This spirit of trading amongst friends and neighbours continues on today with our annual Seed and Pland Exchange.

Gardeners from 19 countries have shared stories about the seeds and plants they have contributed to Memory Lane International Friendship Gardens. Some are about family history, humour or special memories. All of this is recorded in a small booklet you can take with you on your stroll through the garden.

If trading interests you, contact us at seeds@teagardensbb.com.
